| Appel à projets / Call for applications 2023 IFAS-Recherche | Appel à projets 2023 IFAS-Research | Call for applications 2023 Jusqu’au 30 novembre / Until 30 November Étudiant·e·s Master· 2 – Doctorant·e·s – Post-doctorant·e·s – Chercheurs et chercheuses L’IFAS-Recherche finance chaque année une trentaine de projets de recherche en sciences humaines et sociales, soit individuels, soit collectifs (missions de terrain, enquêtes, séjours en archives et en bibliothèque, organisation de manifestations scientifiques, etc.). Les financements attribués s’échelonnent entre 500 et 1 500 €. Les projets doivent porter sur l’aire géographique couverte par l’IFAS-Recherche : Afrique du Sud, Angola, Botswana, Congo, République démocratique du Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibie, Zambie, Zimbabwe. Toutes les demandes de financement pour l’année 2023 devront impérativement nous parvenir avant le 30 novembre 2022. Candidatez ici Master’s students – Doctoral students – Post-doctoral students – Senior researchers Every year, IFAS-Research funds a variety of research projects, either individual or collective (fieldwork, surveys, archival & documentary research, organization of scientific events, etc.). Grants will range from 500 to 1,500 €. Projects must be within the geographical area covered by IFAS-Research: Angola, Botswana, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. All funding applications for 2023 must imperatively reach us before November 30th 2022. Apply here IFAS-Recherche | Aide à la mobilité internationale doctorale et post-doctorale Jusqu’au 30 novembre Plusieurs bourses d’aide à la mobilité internationale pour des recherches doctorales ou post-doctorales seront attribuées par l’IFAS-Recherche en 2023. Les aides seront versées pour une durée de 1 à 3 mois (maximum), non renouvelable. Les candidat·e·s retenu·e·s recevront l’appui de l’IFAS-Recherche et pourront participer à l’animation de l’Institut (séminaires, tables-rondes, colloques, publications, etc.). Le montant de l’aide à la mobilité s’élève à 1 300 € net par mois. Les candidat·e·s doivent être de nationalité française, et avoir une inscription en cours dans une université française ou être rattaché·e·s à une UMR en France. Plus d’informations ici FMSH & IFAS-Recherche | Programme ATLAS 2023 | Appel à candidatures | Séjour de recherche post-doctorale en Afrique australe Jusqu’au 9 décembre 2022 La Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH) et l’IFAS-Recherche proposent à des postdoctorant·e·s ou à de jeunes chercheurs et chercheuses résidant en France, une aide à la mobilité pour réaliser un séjour scientifique de 2 à 3 mois en Afrique australe (Afrique du Sud, Angola, Botswana, Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibie, République démocratique du Congo, Zambie, Zimbabwe). Une aide financière de 1 500 € par mois de séjour est attribuée aux lauréat·e·s. Elle est destinée à couvrir les frais de transport et de séjour. Seront soutenus des projets de recherche qui s’inscrivent dans la politique scientifique de l’IFAS-Recherche, en synergie avec ses chercheurs ou ses partenaires d’Afrique Australe. Plus d’informations ici University of Cape Town | Appel à candidatures / Call for Applications Jusqu’au 31 octobre / Until 31 October La Section de français de l’École des langues et des littératures (SLL) de l’université de Cape Town (UCT), dans le cadre du Programme VC 2030 Future Leaders, invite des ressortissants sud-africains et africains à postuler à des bourses d’études dans le domaine des littératures francophones contemporaines sur le Sud (Afrique, océan Indien, Caraïbes…) et le Nord postcolonial. Dans ce 2e appel de 2022, 2 bourses de Master et 1 bourse de Doctorat sont disponibles, à partir de janvier 2023. More information here Événements à venir / Forthcoming events Archives & Democracy Session | Paths to Democracy Forum 7 October 9:30 – 12:00 | Johannesburg  On October 7th, the French Institute of South Africa will organise an in-person session on Archives and Democracy in South Africa, in the framework of the “Paths to Democracy” Forum. The session, divided into two panels, will discuss the links between archives and democracy, especially the problem of free access to public records in democratic societies. The first panel will focus on the question of accessibility and will host Noor Nieftagodien (Professor of History at Wits University), Hennie Van Vuuren (Director of Open Secrets) and Sello Hatang (Chief Executive of the Nelson Mandela Foundation). A second panel will accommodate Linda Chernis (Archive Coordinator at GALA Queer Archives) and Delphine Wibaux (Delegate of European and International Affairs at INA) for a conversation about the challenge of preserving and making ‘sensitive’ archives available to the public. The session will take place at the French Institute, 62 Juta Street, Braamfontein. The access is free and open to all, but prior registration is required. Register here Conference: News from the Past − The Stone Age in Zimbabwe 18 October 8:55 – 15:45 | Johannesburg IFAS-Research is pleased to organise the conference “News from the Past − The Stone Age in Zimbabwe”. Researchers from the University of Zimbabwe, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Toulouse − Jean Jaurès, University of Cape Town and University of Algarve will present their result on the Prehistory of Zimbabwe. The conference is hosted at the French Institute, 1st floor, 62 Juta Street, Braamfontein.
