Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and National Development Banks (NDBs) are already working to advance the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). But the tempo is not right. Can multilateral and national public development banks do more to deliver finance at the right pace and scale and on terms appropriate for catalyzing global green and just transitions? What potential decisions might enhanced cooperation between multilateral and national development banks in achieving the 2030 agenda? This conference will contribute to give a better understanding of this potential, that is, of Public Development Banks potential to work as a coordinated and catalytic ecosystem of public finance for green and just transitions. Based on the concrete analysis of nine regional MDBs, the conference will discuss the potential for greater cooperation between MDBs and NDBs. What are the main barriers and prospective benefits? Whose responsibility is it to advance this cooperation? And why is it that so little is being done to track the SDGs systematically and using SDG17 (partnership) as a conveyor to bring it to its right operational level?March 202382:00 pm (CET)Webinar |
