| 1st Issue January 2024 Editorial In our first newsletter of the year, we wish you all a healthy and peaceful New Year and the strength to keep up with all the challenges that may lie ahead. We hope that 2024 will be more peaceful and hopeful than 2023, and our community does all it can to help make this happen. Looking back, we have put together our most read blog posts form the last year, and looking forward, we are busy preparing our 50th anniversary year from June 2024 to September 2025. | Highlight: Ethical Guidelines for Research Partnerships |
| Ethical guidelines for responsible academic partnerships with the Global South These guidelines are designed as a self-reflective journey to counterbalance inherent the global inequalities that permeate and that may be reproduced within academic collaborations. With a combination of ideals, principles, and values, as well as other resources for further reading, the guidelines provide recommendations for the academic community in Finnish higher education institutions, highlighting key points to consider in their engagements in and with the Global South. | Highlight: Bergen Summer Research School, 3-13 June |
| PhD Summer Research School: Education 2030 and Beyond: Addressing Global Challenges Quality in education is one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). However, education, and in particular, Higher Education, has the potential to guide transformations toward achieving all the goals. Its role is thus not only to address and implement the SDGs, but also to critically engage with these goals. With this in mind, the school offers six parallel courses and a joint course on systems thinking and creative problem-solving. Application deadline is 1 February. Read more |
