It is part of the 10th Anniversary conference of the Department of International Development at King’s, and we are proud to celebrate with our friends and colleagues there. You can also still register for our online roundtable next Thursday which will discuss potential and pitfalls of research-practice collaboration from various angles. As usual, we’ve got a new post on our blog, and with the climate COP27 starting this Sunday, our thematic focus is on climate change today. Given that our understanding and concept of work have always been fiercely contested throughout history, he calls for restructuring work around principles of sustainability, solidarity, and time justice. The working group itself aims at exchanging information and discussing ongoing research, as well as linking up to research institutions in non-European countries in order to contribute to a global dialogue in social protection. It unpacks the implications for sustainable development and for disadvantaged social groups through the lenses of intersectionality and power. It proposes the creation of a new eco-social contract and a policy approach based on alternative economies, transformative social policies, and reimagined multilateralism and strengthened solidarities. Read more Highlight: Climate Transparency Report 2022 This report provides a concise overview of the key facts and figures on the state of climate performance of the G20 in a comparative stocktake. The analysis covers adaptation, mitigation and finance, with 20 detailed country profiles of all G20 members and a summary of key findings, especially highlighting the link between the climate emergency and energy crisis.
