| 2nd Issue February 2024EditorialToday we’re excited to announce that we have formed a new task group for Decolonising Knowledge for Development. With a reflection paper and blog post, the group wants to kick off a broader conversation while bearing in mind the dangers of such discussion as being perceived as yet another form of intellectual colonisation. In relation to this, we also reiterate our invitation to the online launch of our latest book « Challenging Global Development » which is also part of our quest towards decoloniality and justice. Besides the usual news and picks, our thematic focus is on work this time. From our BlogReflections on Decolonising Knowledge for Development: An invitation to a conversation »In Development Studies, alongside many other debates on development and coloniality, interest has grown around intellectual ‘decolonisation’ or decolonising knowledge », writes Peter Taylor in our latest blog that introduces a new EADI reflection paper around this topic: « EADI represents an incredibly valuable resource of knowledge and experience to help inform and shape collective thinking around processes and approaches that can support decolonisation without reproducing it in yet new ways. » Read more and join the conversation! The paper invites thoughts and ideas around four main questions: Whose knowledge counts? How can we decolonise knowledge asymmetries? How to promote learning and change? The report unveils the corporate and financial actors that underpin this order, the dangers of an unjust energy transition, lessons for movements of resistance, and the possibilities for transformative change.Read more Highlight: Europe Sustainable Development ReportThe Europe Sustainable Development Report 2023/24 (5th edition) provides an independent quantitative assessment of the progress by the European Union, its member states and partner countries towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In light of the upcoming European Elections and UN Summit of the future, this year’s edition identifies 10 priority actions for the incoming EU leadership to accelerate SDG implementation within Europe and internationally.
